The fish is a long, lean tapered fish, with buldging eyes, pectoral and ventral fins a short tail and a dorsal ridge. The piece is cast upright on a large hollow base. On the base, an inscription reads: the Osiris, given life and follows with two names: Bastet and Amun.Often, the fish is associated with Hathor, the personification of love, joy and motherhood. Probably found in El Bahanasa, the site of the 19th dynasty capital of Upper Egypt. Condition: Intact and in good condition... Size: 95 mm. Provenance: Formerly in the A.G.
